Tangled: The Essential Guide Book Review By Erin V.

I always have fun with these kinds of books.  They provide a little insight and back story into the film, expanding on my enjoyment of a film.  The text is not overwhelming, as the pages are visual-centric.  Because of this, it really doesn’t exclude anyone.  This book would make a great gift for kids, teens, or adults who like tie-in books.  For animated movies, I especially enjoy these books.  And as a writer, they are interesting close-up looks at characters in film.

A short introduction at the beginning tells the prologue from the film, and two pages at the end tell the conclusion.  Since these pages are text only, if you flip quickly through the book, you won’t be spoiled, but I definitely suggest seeing the film before reading the actual text of the book – even on the character pages.

I had fun watching the film Tangled and I enjoyed being able to come home and look at this book afterward.  This is another one to add to the collection of DK’s truly ‘essential’ guides.
