Acclaimed British director and producer Peter Yates has sadly passed away on the 9th of January, due to a long illness.  He was 81.

Perhaps best known behind the camera for his work on such films as the coming-of-age classic Breaking Away, and the crime-drama The Friends of Eddie Coyle, Yates will also be remembered for revolutionizing modern car chases with the Steve McQueen classic, Bullitt.

He will be missed, may he rest in peace.
