Blu-ray Release: Dances with Wolves & Raging Bull

On January 11th, MGM Home Entertainment released anniversary editions of Dances with Wolves and Raging Bull, for the first time on Blu-ray.  Both significant achievements in their own right, these spectacular new HD transfers come highly recommended.

Dances with Wolves: In 1990, Kevin Costner directed and starred in Dances with Wolves.  This year celebrates 20 years since the epic story of a Civil War hero’s friendship and relationship with a tribe of Sioux Indians, swept the Oscars and won Best Picture.  It still remains a popular title amongst critics and audiences alike.

The Blu-ray comes packed with bonus features, including numerous additional scenes, two commentary tracks as well as several behind the scenes featurettes.

Raging Bull: It’s hard to believe that Raging Bull, Martin Scorsese’s gritty direction of Robert De Niro’s portrayal of a boxer’s physical struggle inside the ring and emotional struggle outside of it, is already celebrating it’s 30th anniversary.  Originally released to critical acclaim in 1980, this is widely regarded as one of the best collaborations between Scorsese and De Niro.

The Blu-ray is loaded with numerous bonus material, including 3 commentary tracks, several featurettes, and archival footage.
