DVD/Blu-ray Release: Secretariat

Today, Walt Disney Studios’ Home Entertainment is releasing Secretariat on Blu-ray & DVD.  Telling the true story of the 1970’s racehorse who beat all odds to win the Triple Crown, and the housewife who trained him, this is a rousing and inspirational sports movie with a great leading performance from Diane Lane.  We reviewed Secretariat when it opened in theatres on October 8th, all considering this an excellent film for those of all ages.  Our overall consensus was:

“Based on the inspiring true story, Secretariat is an excellent look at the famous race horse and his unlikely owner.  With great performances and spectacular footage of the races, the film is uplifting and deeply emotionally affecting. **** (Out of 4)”

The Blu-ray includes audio commentary with director Randall Wallace, several featurettes and deleted scenes, a music video, as well as archival footage of the real Secretariat.

Secretariat is 123 minutes and rated G.
