On January 25th, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment released the first ten episodes of the second season of the hit musical TV series Glee on DVD. Including the surprisingly excellent Grilled Cheesus – which gracefully dealt with issues of religion, a welcome guest appearance from Gwyneth Paltrow, as well as The Rocky Horror Glee Show and the touching Christmas special, this collection features several of the show’s best episodes.
The first season also had its share of good moments, but I’ve personally found the second season to be superior. Although fans may want to hold out until the complete season is released, this collection is mainly worth a look for the many musical numbers that are always worth revisiting.
The DVD includes a music jukebox, an exclusive bonus song, a look at last year’s Glee events at Comic-Con, as well as featurettes with actress Jane Lynch and the delightfully dimwitted character of Brittany.
Glee will return on Sunday, February 6th with a special episode that will air immediately following the Super Bowl, and after that will resume in its usual Tuesday night time slot.
