Today, Walt Disney Studios’ Home Entertainment is releasing their 1951 classic, Alice in Wonderland, for the first time on Blu-ray.  Now celebrating its 60th anniversary, this animated reimagining of Lewis Carroll’s story is perhaps not as well known as other Disney classics, but the vibrant colours look spectacular in high-definition on Blu-ray.

 

The sometimes psychedelic visuals were perhaps ahead of their time in the early ’50’s, but the many characters and musical set pieces are still a delight for those of all ages and this anniversary edition makes a great ‘un-birthday’ gift.

 

The Blu-ray includes several new featurettes, archival reference footage, a deleted scene, and an interactive viewing experience.  Also included in the package is a DVD of the film.

 

Alice in Wonderland is 75 minutes and rated G.
