Most of us probably don’t even know the details of what a Production Assistant does on set. But if you want to get into the industry, being a PA is a good starting level job.
Although those not interested in the inner workings on-set probably won’t be that motivated to read this guide all the way through, I enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone starting out as a PA. It is truly an invaluable resource. Joshua A. Friedman’s writing smoothly details the inner workings of the job – with true experience accounts that keep this from being a dry read. At under 200 pages long, it can be read in a couple of days, and is thin enough to carry along and be referred to while on the job.
