Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is releasing a 15th anniversary edition of director Ben Stiller’s The Cable Guy on Blu-ray today.  Featuring appearances from several comedic actors near the beginning of their careers, the film tells the story of cable installer Chip Douglas (Jim Carrey), who becomes obsessed with one of his customers (Matthew Broderick).

Although it won’t be for everybody, The Cable Guy is a pitch-black comedy that offers an interesting and suitably disturbing look at emotional manipulation, and is worth seeing now for the fascinating message about our generation’s obsession with technology that was ahead of its time for 1996.

The Blu-ray includes a commentary track with director Ben Stiller, Judd Apatow and Jim Carrey, deleted & extended scenes, a gag reel, and some other featurettes.

The Cable Guy is 96 minutes and rated PG.
