In time for release of the Arthur remake with Russell Brand coming this Friday, Warner Home Video is re-releasing the original 1981 Arthur with Dudley Moore and its sequel from 1988 Arthur 2: On The Rocks.

 

The first film garnered two Oscar noms (Best Actor for Dudley Moore, & Best Original Screenplay), as well as two quite deserving Oscar wins (Best Supporting Actor for John Gielgud, & Best Original Song for ‘Arthur’s Theme’).  Unlike the first film, the sequel was not that critically acclaimed, although the one-disc set which includes both films is worth getting if even just for the original classic.

 

Arthur is 97 mins., and is rated PG.

 

Arthur 2: On The Rocks is 113 mins., and is rated PG.
