Today, MGM Home Entertainment is releasing a 40th anniversary Blu-ray of Norman Jewison’s classic musical, Fiddler on the Roof.  Nominated for 8 Academy Awards in 1971 including Best Picture, the film tells the inspiring and musically-driven story of a poor Jewish milkman (Topol) raising his family in czarist Russia.  Filled with wonderfully memorable songs, it remains a powerful and life-affirming musical for those of all ages.

 

The Blu-ray includes commentary with Jewison & actor Topol, several featurettes, as well as a deleted song.  Also included is a DVD of the film.

 

Fiddler on the Roof is 181 minutes and rated G.
