Today, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment is releasing Mars Needs Moms on Blu-ray & DVD.  Despite being an expensive flop at the box office, this is a fun sci-fi adventure for kids that has enough in the way of positive messages and impressive motion-capture visuals to keep older audiences watching.  We reviewed the film when it opened in theatres on March 11th, our overall consensus was:

“Mars Needs Moms is a fun sci-fi adventure for kids, that offers good messages about family.  Although the simplistic story isn’t entirely engaging for adults, the unique 3D visuals are a delight for those of all ages. *** (Out of 4)”

The Blu-ray includes several featurettes, some deleted scenes as well as an extended opening.  Also included is a DVD of the film.

Mars Needs Moms is 88 minutes and rated PG.
