The nominations for the 32nd Annual Genie Awards were announced today in Toronto, by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television.  Honouring the best of 2011 in Canadian film, the five films nominated for Best Picture were A Dangerous Method, Café de Flore, Monsieur Lazhar, Starbuck and The Whistlebower.

Café de Flore leads the pack with a whopping thirteen nominations, and David Cronenberg’s psychological drama A Dangerous Method is close behind with eleven nods.  It is also nice to see a Best Actor nomination given to Scott Speedman for his excellent work in Edwin Boyd.  The winners will be announced at the The Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto on Thursday, March 8th.  Please see below for a complete list of nominees.
