Today, Disney is releasing this summer’s animated sequel Planes: Fire & Rescue on Blu-ray. A step up from the first one, this is a well intentioned film that provides harmless entertainment and even excitement for young audiences, and should prove a popular choice at home. We reviewed Planes: Fire & Rescue in theatres back on July 18th, and our overall consensus was:
“Although the simplistic story is predictable and geared towards the youngest members of the audience, Planes: Fire & Rescue improves on the first film, with better animation and some more engaging firefighting sequences. **1/2 (out of 4)”
The Blu-ray has three short films including the exclusive Vitaminamulch: Air Spectacular, as well as deleted scenes, a couple of brief featurettes, and the music video “Still I Fly” by Spencer Lee.
Planes: Fire & Rescue is 84 minutes and rated G.
