Today, Sony Pictures is releasing The Wedding Ringer on Blu-ray.  Desperate to find a best man for his wedding to the uptight Gretchen Palmer (Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting), the socially awkward Doug Harris (Josh Gad) hires the smooth Jimmy Callahan (Kevin Hart), the head of a company that rents out wedding parties to guys in need.

Although this raunchy comedy has its moments and offers a few minor chuckles, the script leans a little too heavily on cheap gags and borderline homophobic humour, and can’t compare to the superior I Love You, Man, from which is borrows liberally.  As a whole, The Wedding Ringer is pretty mediocre, but Josh Gad and Kevin Hart do make for a pair of likeable leads, and I suppose fans of these actors could do a lot worse.

The Blu-ray includes deleted scenes and outtake reels, as well as a featurette and a music video.

The Wedding Ringer is 101 minutes and rated 14A.
