Today, Elevation Pictures is releasing Room on Blu-ray, one of the best movies of last year. Jack (Jacob Tremblay) has just turned five, but has lived his entire life locked in a small square room with his beloved mother (Brie Larson). She is fiercely committed to protecting her little boy, and will do anything in her power to get him out, but adapting to the outside world might prove to be even more challenging.
I’ve already written a lot about this film, so by this point I think it’s pretty clear how much it means to me. Fresh off winning Brie Larson a highly deserved Best Actress Oscar for her heartbreaking work, and featuring one of the finest child performances of all time in Jacob Tremblay, Room is a devastatingly powerful drama that I couldn’t recommend more highly. My full review is right here.
The Blu-ray also has commentary with director Lenny Abrahamson and crew, and several featurettes.
Room is 117 minutes and rated 14A.
