To celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of Top Gun this year, Paramount is releasing a brand new steelbook edition of the classic 1986 action film. Starring Tom Cruise in one of his most iconic roles, and featuring a great soundtrack, this remains a campy and entertaining staple of its decade.
Although this release doesn’t include the 3D version that was put out a few years ago, the sleek and stylish packaging makes it worth picking up for fans and those who collect steelbooks, which I’ve started doing myself recently. This is a nicely packaged edition overall.
The Blu-ray also includes commentary with producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Tony Scott, Tom Cruise interviews, several featurettes and four music videos.
Top Gun is 110 minutes and rated PG.
