A “spiritual sequel” to Dazed and Confused, Everybody Wants Some!! follows baseball player Jake (Blake Jenner) over his party-fuelled first days of college in 1980.

Boasting a great soundtrack and game young cast, and very much in tune with the tone and feel of its predecessor, this is a wildly entertaining and also sweetly nostalgic ride that reaffirms director Richard Linklater as master of the hangout movie.  It’s one of the best movies of the year so far, and my full review is right here.

The Blu-ray includes 25 minutes of outtakes, as well as four featurettes, which touch on the audition videos the cast sent in, the dance training the actors went through, the ’80s fashions and hairstyles, and Richard Linklater’s impressive memory for period details.

Everybody Wants Some!! is a Paramount Home Media release.  It’s 116 minutes and rated 14A.
