Warner Bros. has just released the first trailer for Sinners, the latest collaboration between director Ryan Coogler and star Michael B. Jordan, following Black Panther, Creed and Fruitvale Station. This one is a period piece horror movie set in the 1930s Jim Crow South. Jordan stars in a duel role playing twin brothers, and Hailee Steinfeld, Jack O’Connell and Delroy Lindo are also in the cast.
Along with that director and star pairing, the other main selling point of this trailer is that the film was “shot on IMAX film cameras” by cinematographer Autumn Durald Arkapaw (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, The Last Showgirl). The visuals look crisp and cool as hell, and it’s exciting that “IMAX” and “film” have now become selling points for the general public.
The whole thing looks eery and has me intrigued. The film opens in theatres on March 7th, 2025. The full trailer is below. As always, feel free to comment your thoughts once you have watched it!
