A24 has released the first trailer for the movie Babygirl starring Nicole Kidman, who won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress at Venice for the role. She is also getting Best Actress Oscar buzz for the film. Written and directed by Halina Reijn (Bodies Bodies Bodies), Kidman stars in the film as a high-powered CEO starting an affair with her younger intern (played by Triangle of Sadness breakout star Harris Dickinson).

It’s being described as a genuine erotic thriller that looks at gender roles and power dynamics through an unconventional relationship. This is one of the movies that I most regret missing when it played at TIFF, so I was already onboard sight-unseen and can’t wait to check it out. It’s being released in theatres on Christmas Day.
