New Trailer for Osgood Perkins’ The Monkey

By John Corrado

Distributor NEON has just released the new full-length redband trailer for director Osgood Perkins’ The Monkey. This trailer follows the new poster that was released yesterday, which cheekily highlighted all of the gory deaths that will be depicted in the film.

The marketing for this one so far has been on point. Perkins, of course, is fresh off of the movie Longlegs, which became a surprise box office hit for NEON last summer, so they are clearly heavily banking on this one as well. It’s an adaptation of a Stephen King short story, about a toy monkey that causes people to die. The new trailer promises something gruesome and blackly comic. I’m intrigued by what’s been shown so far.

The Monkey opens exclusively in theatres on February 21st, and is being handled by Elevation Pictures in Canada. I’ll be reviewing this one next month. The full trailer is below.
