New releases for the week of February 14th, 2025.

Theatrical Releases:
Captain America: Brave New World (Wide Release): The biggest new release this week is this latest entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which functions as the big screen debut of Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson as Captain America. It’s a decent enough political thriller that serves as a bit of a reset for the MCU. But it still has some pacing issues and struggles to fully take off at times. Harrison Ford is having a surprising amount of fun though playing the president. (Full Review)
Paddington in Peru (Wide Release): This third film in the Paddington series is one I’m eagerly looking forward to seeing as soon as I can. While this one has director Dougal Wilson taking over from Paul King (who stepped down to direct Wonka), the reviews are strong for what looks to be another charming adventure featuring the titular bear from Peru. The first two films made my top ten lists for their respective years, so this one has a lot to live up to.
More Releases: Becoming Led Zeppelin (Limited), 2025 Oscar Nominated Short Films (Limited), Ghost: 35th Anniversary (Limited), Armand (TIFF Lightbox)
Streaming Releases:
Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy (Prime Video), The Gorge (Apple TV+), La Dolce Villa (Netflix)
