New releases for the week of March 7th, 2025.

Theatrical Releases:

Mickey 17 (Wide Release): Bong Joon-ho’s long-awaited followup to his Oscar-winning Parasite is finally arriving in theatres after many delays. Robert Pattinson stars as a man who signs up to be an expendable on a space mission, where clones of himself keep being printed and disposed. Mark Ruffalo, Toni Collette, Naomi Ackie and Steven Yeun also star. Reviews are generally very good, and I’m really looking forward to seeing this one in theatres in the next little bit. Seven Veils (Limited Release): This latest psychodrama from Canadian writer-director Atom Egoyan stars Amanda Seyfried as a theatre director who is hired to remount a production of Salome for the Canadian Opera Company, forcing her to reconcile with the past. It’s one of Egoyan’s stronger later-career efforts, and features a solid performance from Seyfried. Opens at TIFF Lightbox in Toronto and other limited theatres. (Full Review)
