Warner Bros. has just released the first trailer for One Battle After Another, the highly anticipated new film from writer-director Paul Thomas Anderson. Leonardo DiCaprio leads the stacked cast, which also includes Regina Hall, Benicio Del Toro and Teyana Taylor, with Sean Penn as the neo-Nazi antagonist in what is reported to be a sinister, scene-stealing role.

This is new territory for Anderson, working in the action comedy genre for the first time. The trailer is nicely cut together, and really leans into what the title promises, suggesting a series of exciting set-pieces as characters traverse the country during a modern civil war. This is also PTA’s first film to be getting an IMAX release, with him shooting it on VistaVision.

The film, which was initially set to open on August 8th, now releases in theatres on September 26th. My question now is if this will end up playing at TIFF? The full trailer is below, please feel free to comment your thoughts after watching it!
