Disney has just released the first trailer for Tron: Ares, the long-awaited follow up to the 2010 legacy sequel Tron: Legacy. This one concerns a computer program, Ares, getting loose in the real world.
A sequel to the groundbreaking 1982 film Tron, Tron: Legacy was a visually dazzling experience with an awesome techno score by Daft Punk, so I’m excited for this follow up. Joachim Rønning (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) directs this one, with Nine Inch Nails (!) doing the score. Jared Leto and Greta Lee lead the cast, with Jeff Beidges also returning (we hear his voice at the end of the trailer).
Tron: Ares opens exclusively in theatres on October 10th. It was filmed for IMAX. The full trailer is below, please feel free to comment your thoughts after watching it!
