New This Week (04/11/2025): Warfare, Sacramento, & More!

By John Corrado

New releases for the week of April 11th, 2025.

A24’s Warfare

Theatrical Releases:

Warefare (Wide Release): Director Alex Garland delivered one of the better movies of last year with his speculative Civil War, and now he returns to A24 to co-direct – with real life Iraq War veteran Ray Mendoza – this fact-based portrait of Navy SEALs in Iraq. I was a big fan of Civil War, so I’m curious to check this one out. I’ve heard it’s quite the immersive experience, especially in IMAX.

Sacramento (Limited Release): Actor Michael Angarano directs, co-writes and co-stars in this quarter-life-crisis dramedy. Angarano plays Rickey, the immature childhood friend to Michael Cera’s Glenn, with the two of them going on an impromptu road trip to to the titular California city. It’s pretty good, and the two leads have solid chemistry together. (Full Review)
