New releases for the week of May 2nd, 2025.

Theatrical Releases:

Thunderbolts* (Wide Release): This latest entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe finds a group of misfits being assembled to save the world in the absence of the Avengers. The team includes Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Red Guardian (David Harbour) and John Walker (Wyatt Russell). It has the best reviews for a new Marvel movie in a little while, and appears to be a little grittier in tone. I missed the screening for this one, so haven’t seen it yet. But I’ll be going to it soon and will report back!
