Universal Pictures has just unveiled the first trailer for Wicked: For Good, the highly anticipated followup to last year’s Wicked: Part One. The first film was obviously a box office sensation and an awards juggernaut, and this trailer indicates that director Jon M. Chu has nailed Part Two as well.

This is really the second act of the Broadway show, exploring the changing relationship between Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda (Ariana Grande). The story obviously moves them away from Shiz University, and incorporates more elements from the original Wizard of Oz as well. I was a pretty big fan of the first film, and this trailer nails the epic look that fans are expecting from the finale. It’s partially set, of course, to the song “For Good.”

I’m now curious to see if Wicked: For Good can repeat the awards success of the first film, which earned ten Oscar nominations. The film opens in theatres on November 21st. The trailer is embedded below, please feel free to comment your thoughts after watching it!
