Paramount has just put out the first trailer for director Edgar Wright’s latest movie The Running Man. This is a new adaptation of the Stephen King book, which was already turned into a movie in 1987 starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Wright’s version stars Glen Powell as a man trying to survive in a dystopian future, who joins a high stakes reality show where everyone is trying to kill him. The cast also includes Josh Brolin, Colman Domingo, and Wright’s Scott Pilgrim vs. the World star Michael Cera. I’m a big fan of Wright’s work, and this looks like another kinetic, stylized and (hopefully) very entertaining action movie.
The film opens exclusively in theatres on November 7th. I would love for this one to play at TIFF first, like Wright’s previous movie Last Night in Soho. The full trailer is below.
