Following last year’s one-two punch of Challengers and Queer, Luca Guadagnino is back this year with After the Hunt. This one is a post-#MeToo psychological thriller starring Julia Roberts, Andrew Garfield, and The Bear’s Ayo Edebiri.

Amazon MGM Studios has just released the first trailer for the film, positioning this as a major awards contender. Guadagnino appears to be tackling timely themes around cancel culture, and the performances look to elevate it. I’m excited to see Roberts sink her teeth into a role this juicy, and Garfield seems to be on another level. Edebiri, who was incredible in season four of The Bear, also looks to be a standout in this.

The film opens in theatres in October, and it’s highly likely it will be premiering at Venice and TIFF first. The full trailer is embedded below.
