Trailer for Avatar: Fire and Ash

By John Corrado

The first trailer for Avatar: Fire and Ash has now been released online, after premiering in theatres in front of The Fantastic Four: First Steps over the weekend. I got to preview the trailer in IMAX before the Fantastic Four press screening last week (I posted my thoughts on X/Twitter). To reiterate, this looks like another fully immersive trip to Pandora from director James Cameron.

The trailer doesn’t give away too much of the plot, but it does offer some hints at where it is going. The main selling point is once again the hyperrealistic visuals, with Cameron building on what we saw in 2022’s The Way of Water. There are a number of striking images throughout the trailer. We see some of the new worlds and new creatures and characters, including members of the Ash clan, led by Varang (played by Oona Chaplin).

The film opens exclusively in theatres on December 19th, and I have a feeling it’s on track to make another couple billion dollars at the box office. The full trailer is embedded below, please feel free to comment your thoughts after watching it!
