4K Ultra HD Review: Jurassic World Rebirth (Collector’s Edition)

By John Corrado

The seventh film in the franchise, Jurassic World Rebirth was one of the biggest box office hits of the summer, and is now available on physical media. You can read my full review of the film right here.

This one is directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), and arrives over three decades after Steven Spielberg’s 1993 original, and ten years after a new trilogy was launched with franchise reboot Jurassic World.

Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey and Mahershala Ali lead a new cast of characters, who are sent to collect research samples from an island of genetically mutated dinosaurs. It doesn’t reach the heights of the original, but is still a largely decent entry into the franchise, with a few solid set-pieces.

As a final note, the 4K Ultra HD presentation does justice to the movie (which was shot on 35mm film), with its mix of lush scenery, heavy use of visual effects and nighttime scenes, making this a standout for the format. It really captures the filmic look of the movie.
