We finally have a trailer (and an official title!) for Steven Spielberg’s upcoming film. It’s called Disclosure Day, and is the director’s long-awaited return to the sci-fi genre. The details of it have been kept tantalizingly under wraps so far. This is said to be him going back to his roots of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and I’m getting those vibes from this teaser trailer, which will be playing in theatres with Avatar: Fire and Ash.
Josh O’Connor and Emily Blunt star in the film, which involves the fallout that happens when proof of the existence of extra terrestrial life is revealed to the world. Yes, Spielberg is doing aliens again, and it looks like the legendary filmmaker is fully back in old school blockbuster mode. As a Spielberg fan, I’m incredibly excited for this one, and it’s nearly my most anticipated movie of next year.
The film opens exclusively in theatres on June 12th, 2026. It’s shaping up to be quite the summer, with Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey arriving a month later as well. The full teaser is below.
