First Trailer for Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey!

By John Corrado

The first trailer for The Odyssey, director Christopher Nolan’s ambitious cinematic adaptation of Homer, has just been released online. This is following the teaser that played exclusively in theatres in front of Jurassic World: Rebirth over the summer, and the film’s prologue playing in IMAX with Avatar: Fire and Ash (and the 70mm re-releases of Sinners and One Battle After Another).

This is Nolan’s highly anticipated followup to his Oscar-winning box office juggernaut Oppenheimer, and it looks incredible. The trailer gives us a thrilling sense of the massive scope of this film, the first to be shot entirely using IMAX cameras. The images themselves look stunning. We also get glimpses at the massive ensemble cast, including Matt Damon as Odysseus, Tom Holland as his son Telemachus, and Anne Hathaway as wife Penelope.

The film opens exclusively in theatres and IMAX on July 17th, 2026, with 70mm IMAX screenings of it already selling out a year in advance. Between this and Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day, summer 2026 is already shaping up to be quite exciting. The full trailer is below!
