The first teaser (and poster) for Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday is now officially online, after playing exclusively in theatres in front of Avatar: Fire and Ash (and inevitably leaking online). The film finds directors Anthony and Joe Russo returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following Infinity War and Endgame.
This short teaser, which is arriving a full year before the film hits theatres next December, reveals the return of Chris Evans as Steve Rogers. Steve’s Captain America already had the perfect send off in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, so I’m curious to see how this plays out. Robert Downey Jr. is also back, but this time portraying Dr. Doom in a multiverse timeline…
This film is aiming to recapture the cultural and box office hold of the MCU, which dominated the zeitgeist from 2008 to 2019. It’s not that I haven’t liked several of the films released since then, but I’m of the belief that they should’ve taken a bit more of a break to reset after Endgame. We’ll see how this one does trying to bring back core cast members. It opens exclusively in theatres on December 18th, 2026. The full teaser is below.
