By John Corrado
The nominations for the 2026 Dorian Film Awards, presented by GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics (of which I am a member), have just been announced. Paul Thomas Anderson’s seemingly unstoppable award season juggernaut One Battle After Another is leading the pack with nine nominations, followed closely by Ryan Coogler’s Sinners with eight.
Josh Safdie’s Marty Supreme – my own personal pick for best movie of 2025 – is just behind at five nominations, including for Timothée Chalamet in the gender-neutral lead acting category. Chloe Zhao’s Hamnet and Eva Victor’s Sorry, Baby round out the five nominations for Film of the Year alongside these three.
The latter also made it into the LGBTQ Film of the Year category, where Blue Moon, Hedda, Pillion and Twinless all round out the list of nominations, alongside Victor’s film. Similarly, the very powerful documentary Come See Me in the Good Light is nominated in both the main and LGBTQ documentary categories. The great thing about these critics group awards is that they shine a spotlight on lesser known films as well, especially in these LGBTQ-specific film categories.
The full list of nominees is below, and I’m looking forward to casting my final ballot. The winners will be announced on March 3rd, 2026.
