New releases for the week of February 6th, 2026.

Theatrical Releases:

The Moment (Wide Release): Charli XCX stars as a fictionalized version of herself in this satirical mockumentary that follows the British pop star behind the scenes of her Brat stadium tour, as she contends with greedy execs and a pretentious concert movie director (played by Alexander Skarsgård in a scene-stealing supporting role). It’s made for fans of the artist, and is just self-aware enough to mostly work. (Full Review)

Stray Kids: The DominATE Experience (Wide Release): This concert film captures the K-pop boyband Stray Kids performing at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles as part of their DominATE world tour (they were also the first group to perform at Toronto’s new Rogers Stadium last summer). Brief documentary segments introduce us to the eight individual members of the group, including early footage and home videos. The band members talk about wanting to give their international fans one heck of a show, and it’s on full display throughout this LiveNation-produced concert film with every bombastic performance. The point of the film is to offer a fast-paced sensory experience, with the constantly in motion camera swooping over the crowd, and the quick-cut editing timed to the rhythm of their infectious dance pop songs. We get to see their synchronized choreography up close, making a case for these lads being all around great performers. It’s a flashy, entertaining film that should thrill fans and maybe even create a few new ones. It’s playing in IMAX as well.

Kokuho (Limited Release): This Japanese film from director Sang-il Lee is up for Best Makeup and Hairstyling at the Oscars, which isn’t surprising considering it’s a period piece set in the traditional world of Kabuki theatre. It’s already one of the highest grossing live-action films of all time in Japan. Opens exclusively in Toronto on February 6th, before expanding on the 20th. (Review coming soon!)
