New Trailer for Toy Story 5!

By John Corrado

We just got a brand new trailer (and poster) for Toy Story 5. This is Disney and Pixar’s return to the world of their flagship franchise, which finds the toys facing a new adversary in the form of a tablet named Lilypad (voiced by Greta Lee), stealing Bonnie’s attention. Yes, this is Pixar tackling iPad kids.

The new trailer reveals more of the plot, including showing the return of Woody (Tom Hanks) and his reunion with Buzz (Tim Allen) following the end of 2019’s Toy Story 4, as well as how this story will focus a lot more on Jessie (Joan Cusack). This trailer also shows off some nice 2D-style animation at the beginning that presents a bit of a departure for Pixar.

The main reason I’m so optimistic for this fifth instalment – and I was a big fan of 4 – is because it’s directed by Andrew Stanton, one of Pixar’s original “Brain Trust” who gave us beloved studio classics WALL•E and Finding Nemo. The film opens exclusively in theatres on June 19th, and I have a feeling it will be one of the biggest hits of the summer. How can it not be?
