Searchlight Pictures has just put out the first trailer for Wild Horse Nine, the latest film from writer-director Martin McDonagh. McDonagh’s last two films, The Banshees of Inisherin and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, were major Oscar contenders. It looks like a blast.
This one finds McDonagh re-teaming with his Oscar-winning Three Billboards and Seven Psychopaths star Sam Rockwell, who stars alongside John Mallovich. The two play bumbling CIA agents sent to Easter Island. Steve Buscemi, Parker Posey and Tom Waits are also in the cast. This looks very much in the vein of McDonagh’s earlier works like Seven Psychopaths and his debut In Bruges, with its action and snappy dialogue, and I couldn’t be more excited.
The film opens exclusively in theatres on November 6th. I’m hoping this one screens at TIFF first, where McDonagh’s film always get a great reaction and play through the roof.
