Nominations for the 38th Annie Awards

This post officially kicks off our coverage of this year’s awards season.

Today the nominations for the 38th annual Annie Awards were announced.  Honouring animation of all kinds, the awards ceremony will be held on February 5th, 2011.  The excellent line-up for Best Animated Feature includes:

Despicable Me

How To Train Your Dragon

Tangled

The Illusionist

Toy Story 3

As Disney/Pixar withdrew their support of the awards organization several months back, due to disagreements with the voting and judging rules, their films are oddly absent from most of the technical categories.  Which leaves How To Train Your Dragon as a potential frontrunner.

See below for a complete list of nominees.
