DVD Release: Queen Elizabeth in 3D

Today eOne Home Entertainment and CBC Home Video are releasing Queen Elizabeth in 3D on DVD.  When researchers at the British Film Institute found lost footage of 1953’s Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, they were astonished to find that it was not only in colour, but also in 3D.  Combined with new 3D footage of Her Majesty during her recent Canadian royal tour, this is a unique look at our Queen.  Originally airing on September 20th of this year, the 43 minute documentary was the first Canadian program broadcast in the third dimension.

The DVD also includes bonus featurettes on 3D technology, Royal style, memories of the coronation, and on the connections that Canada has to the Monarchy.  Included in the package are four pairs of collectible “blue/sepia” 3D glasses.

Queen Elizabeth in 3D is 43 minutes and rated G.
