The Script-Selling Game Book Review By Erin V.

A few years back when I started researching how to write for screen, I had come across a book from 2002 called The Script-Selling Game.  Now, this interesting book has a second edition coming out.  With new chapters on animation in film, television writing, and how the takeoff of the internet has launched new opportunities for writers, this is an up-to-date book that is worth a writer’s time to read.

Granted, this is not really a ‘how to write a script’ book – but rather very useful for those who have already written a script and are ready for the next step.  As the title suggest, it’s the book to read if you want to fine-tune your knowledge of and focus on the process of pitching, submitting to studios, and ultimately selling your precious script.  Among other things, there are great tips on how to evaluate your script and make sure that it’s in top shape for submission, as well as tips on how you should act should you get that coveted meeting.  Overall, a good title to round out your ‘screenwriting book’ collection.
