20th Century Studios has just released the first teaser trailer (and a poster) for The Devil Wears Prada 2, which is arriving next summer exactly twenty years after the 2006 original. David Frankel returns to direct, with Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci all reprising their roles.
This is very much a teaser, but it gives us our first glimpse at the reunion between Streep’s Miranda Priestly and Hathaway’s Andrea Sachs. The plot is otherwise being kept under wraps. As a reminder, Streep received an Oscar nomination for her performance as the icy New York fashion magazine editor in the first film, which dare I say is still one of her most iconic roles.
All eyes will be on the sequel/reunion to see if it delivers as a followup to this modern classic. I’m also so glad this one isn’t a direct-to-streaming release. The film opens exclusively in theatres on May 1st, 2026.
