20th Century Studios has just released our first trailer (and poster) for The Dog Stars, the latest film from director Ridley Scott (following his sequel Gladiator II). This one is adapted from a book by Peter Heller, and is a post-apocalyptic survival story starring Jacob Elordi, Guy Pearce, Margaret Qualley and Allison Janney.

I’m interested in seeing this one. Even if the end of summer release date might give some pause, the trailer – which is set to Van Morrison’s “Into the Mystic” – looks pretty promising, offering a mix of drama and action thriller. I’m hoping this is Scott, who’s now in his upper-80s, back in top form. It opens exclusively in theatres on August 28th. The full trailer is below.
