Here we have it, folks. The first trailer has officially been released for Coyote vs. ACME, the live-action and animation hybrid Looney Tunes film that got cancelled by Warner Bros. as a tax write off, before being sold to Ketchup Entertainment. The fact that this film is being released at all is a testament to the massive push by fans on social media to have it see the light of day, instead of being buried forever.
It’s now being sold to audiences as “the movie ACME doesn’t want you to see,” a clever bit of advertising. The story follows Wile E. Coyote suing the ACME corporation, with the help of a lawyer played by Will Forte. John Cena also stars as the corporation’s legal representation. It looks quite amusing, with plenty of cartoony Looney Tunes action.
I’ll be seeing this one regardless, and am just happy it’s actually being released. It opens exclusively in theatres in August 28th.
