Winners of the 39th Annual Annie Awards

The highest honour in the world of both film and television animation, the winners of the 39th annual Annie Awards were announced last night in Los Angeles. Gore Verbinski’s animated Oscar frontrunner Rango was the big winner, taking home five awards including Best Picture and Best Writing. Best Director went to Jennifer Yuh Nelson for Kung Fu Panda 2, the first time a female director has won the award. Bill Nighy got Best Voice Acting for Arthur Christmas, and John Williams won Best Music for The Adventures of Tintin.
