DVD/Blu-ray Release: The Muppets

March 20, 2012

One of the best movies of last year, Walt Disney Studios is releasing The Muppets on Blu-ray & DVD today.  Filled with joyous musical numbers, a heartfelt storyline and appealing performances from Jason Segel and Amy Adams, this is a wonderful and triumphant comeback for Jim Henson’s beloved characters.  And that’s exactly why The Muppets is worth getting on Blu-ray.  We reviewed the film when it opened in theatres on November 23rd, our overall consensus was:

“With great humour and joyous musical numbers, Disney’s The Muppets is a labour of love for co-writer and star Jason Segel as well as a triumphant comeback for Jim Henson’s beloved characters.  ***3/4 (Out of 4)”

The Blu-ray comes loaded with commentary, deleted scenes, screen tests, the longest blooper reel (in Muppet history) and more.  The “Wocka Wocka” value pack also includes a free download of the awesome soundtrack, and as Kermit the Frog says “is a great way to bring the Muppets into your home without having worry about cleaning up after us.”

The Muppets is 102 minutes and rated PG.
