Blu-ray Release: Titanic
Today, Paramount Home Entertainment is releasing the classic 1997 epic Titanic for the first time on Blu-ray, marking the fifteenth anniversary of the film. Winning eleven Academy Awards including Best Picture, the film tells the story of Rose (Kate Winslet) and Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio), two people who fall in love over the course of a passionate love affair before the tragedy of the “unsinkable” ship ultimately tears them apart.
I’ve always found it impossible not to get swept up in the pure spectacle and emotion of Titanic, and the film looks spectacular on Blu-ray, just as it did when it was back in theatres last April. After 100 years, the unforgettable story of the Titanic still has a profound effect on millions of people around the world, and fifteen years later, director James Cameron’s Titanic is still a breathtaking and deeply moving classic.
The Blu-ray comes packed with three commentary tracks with the cast and crew, thirty deleted scenes, sixty “behind the scenes” featurettes as well as reflections on both the film and true story. The film is also available to buy in 3D.
Titanic is 194 minutes and rated 14A.
