Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is releasing this summer’s excellent marital drama Hope Springs on Blu-ray & DVD today.  With masterful performances from Meryl Streep, Tommy Lee Jones and Steve Carell as well as a believable script by Vanessa Taylor, this is a refreshingly mature drama that deserves to be remembered at the end of the year.  We all highly recommended Hope Springs when we reviewed the film in theatres back on August 10th, and our overall consensus was:

“Anchored by awards worthy performances from Meryl Streep, Tommy Lee Jones and Steve Carell, Hope Springs is a mature and quietly touching adult drama that is carried by a beautifully written script from Vanessa Taylor.  ***1/2 (Out of 4)”

The Blu-ray includes commentary with director David Frankel, a gag reel, alternate takes on a couple of the scenes as well as several featurettes, including one with relationship expert Dr. Gary Stollman.

Hope Springs is 100 minutes and rated 14A.
