The Rough Guide to 21st Century Cinema Book Review By Erin V.
From 127 Hours to The Wrestler, this Rough Guide profiles 101 films from 2001 to present. Also included with the brief 1-2 page profiles of each film, there are essay-like looks at different aspects of the industry, including recent flops, the state of 3D in the industry, and piracy.
With a strong variety of films profiled here, movie fans will enjoy reading about their favourites, possibly discovering new ones, and even sometimes disagreeing with the book. Plus it’s a great time to find out how many of these films you’ve actually seen. All in all, it’s a fun book for movie buffs and makes a great gift.
