Blu-ray Release: The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh Blu-ray CoverToday, Disney Home Entertainment is releasing the 1977 classic The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh for the first time on Blu-ray.  Delightfully narrated by Sebastian Cabot, this is an immensely appealing collection of animated stories involving Winnie the Pooh (Sterling Holloway) and his friends of the Hundred Acre Wood, filled with memorable moments and a good soundtrack of cute songs.

Directed by John Lounsbery and Wolfgang Reitherman, this is an adorable and sweet film that does justice to the beloved characters of A.A. Milne, leading up nicely to the wonderful 2011 film Winnie the Pooh.  A delightful childhood favourite that still holds up right through to the touching final scene, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh looks quite nice on Blu-ray and is a delightful addition to any collection.

The Blu-ray includes a “making of” featurette, a music video with Carly Simon, five “mini adventures” and the theatrically released 1983 short film A Day for Eeyore.  Also included in the package is a small kite, with a cute picture of Tigger in the clouds.

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is 74 minutes and rated G.
